What We Offer
At Laughing Coffin Blacksmithing we offer a full range of leatherworking services designed to match the quality and character of our forged pieces. Whether you need functional protection, everyday comfort, or a showpiece to complete a custom weapon, our leatherwork is handcrafted to last.
What we do
Everyday wraps and grips: Secure, comfortable leather wraps for handles, tools, or gear. Improve grip, reduce vibration, and add durable, weather-resistant protection tailored to whatever you use daily.
Knife sheaths: Custom-fit sheaths designed to match the blade profile and your carry preference. Options include belt sheaths, neck sheaths, Kydex hybrid mounts, and reinforced mouth retention. Hand-stitched, edge-burnished, and finished with rivets or brass fittings to your spec.
Sword scabbards: Full-length scabbards for collector swords, reenactment pieces, and display items. Built for balance and retention, with reinforced throat, stitching, internal lining options, and belt or baldric fittings to suit how you carry or display your blade.

Leather Wrapping — Hand‑stitched, Fitted, Made to Last
We offer a bespoke leather wrapping service for everyday items and tools that deserve better than the factory finish. Each cover is hand‑cut, hand‑stitched and fitted to the exact contours of your item — hip flasks, knife handles, hammers and hand tools, thermos cups, bike grips and more. Finished pieces are comfortable in the hand, protected from wear, and uniquely yours.
Typical projects
Knife handles and sheaths wrapped for comfort and grip retention.
Hip flasks fitted with leather sleeves that protect and age beautifully.
Thermos and travel cups wrapped for insulation and a secure grip.

Basic Leather Sheaths
We make a range of sturdy, handcrafted leather sheaths for knives, axes, hammer heads and spears. Each sheath is cut, stitched and finished by hand at Laughing Coffin Blacksmithing in Secret Harbour. Our designs focus on fit, protection and longevity — appropriate for working tools, field use and display pieces.
Fitting & process All sheaths require the actual item on site to ensure a true, secure fit. Bring your knife, axe, hammer head or spear tip to the workshop so we can mould and shape the sheath around the tool, check retention and test carry options. This guarantees the sheath holds correctly without excess play and that closures and attachment points align with how you’ll use the tool.
Pricing depends on size, leather grade and features (belt fittings, rivets, custom stamping). We’ll provide an estimate after seeing the item on site.
